Pam’s Bierocks Recipe

Ingredients:

3 cups of all-purpose flour
1 package (2 ¼ teaspoons) of active dry yeast
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of warm milk
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
1 pound of ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cups of shredded cabbage
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and vegetable oil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Pour the milk mixture into the flour mixture and stir until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
In the meantime, prepare the filling. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and shredded cabbage, and cook until the vegetables are tender.
Add the garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and pepper to the beef mixture. Stir well to combine all the flavors. Remove from heat and set aside.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Roll out each portion into a 6-inch circle.
Place a spoonful of the beef filling onto one half of each dough circle. Sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Fold the other half of the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
Place the bierocks on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

Enjoy these delicious Pam’s Bierocks as a main course or a snack any time of the day. They are perfect for parties, picnics, or simply as a comforting treat. Once you taste the combination of the soft dough, flavorful filling, and melted cheese, you’ll understand why Pam’s Bierocks are a true crowd-pleaser.
